Most sources agree that Gelato 25 is an extremely popular phenotype of Mr. Sherbinski's famous Gelato strain, though some point to Guava Gelato as its starting point, which, in addition to being an older phenotype of Gelato, is also the name for several other unrelated lineages. The explosion of new descendant strains has made Gelato 25’s exact details and original breeder especially hard to pin down, and some even misidentify it as a new cross of Thin Mint and Sunset Sherbet. Thanks to its potency, which has reportedly only increased since its introduction, breeders have frequently sought it out for new combinations, and the original Gelato 25 has become a more exotic rarity. Reviews indicate a sweet and funky flavor profile that includes some subtle fruit and spice notes, while buds tend to be large, dense, and pale from frosty trichomes.
