Not to be confused with the unrelated strain Sunshine Kush, Sun Kush is an indica heavy hybrid cannabis strain possibly bred by Midnight Roots Genetics in Michigan. Sun Kush is genetically descended from the balanced hybrid Sunshine #4 and the indica dominant hybrid Fire 18. Users say this lineage gives Sun Kush prominently soothing indica effects while also providing fast acting energetic sativa properties, especially at the beginning of the session. The Sun Kush strain has a super sour fuel aroma that sweetens as the flowers are ground up. Caryophyllene, myrcene, and limonene terpenes also give this strain a potent spicy citrus flavor profile, with a mild diesel exhale when smoked. Elongated and bumpy, Sun Kush flowers have forest green leaves, a dark purple base, spindly amber pistils, and a generous coating of sunny orange sticky crystal trichomes.
