Summary

A signed New York law expands the statutory definition of crops, livestock, and livestock products to include cannabis when cultivated in accordance with state cannabis law. Cannabis cultivators now have legal recognition of their crops under agricultural definitions, which may expand access to agricultural programs, insurance products, and land-use protections available to traditional farmers.
