    Connecticut’s first legal recreational sales launch through hybrid retailers — existing medical dispensaries granted adult-use endorsements — about 18 months after legalization.

  3. JUL 1, 2022REFORM

    Conviction-erasure petitions open

    Individuals become able to petition for erasure of certain prior cannabis convictions, ahead of automatic record clearance the following year.

  4. JUL 1, 2021LEGALIZATION

    Possession legal; SB 1201 takes effect

    Adults 21+ may possess up to 1.5 oz in public and 5 oz secured at home. The Department of Consumer Protection begins standing up the licensing framework, reserving 50% of new licenses for social-equity applicants via lottery.

  5. JUN 22, 2021LEGALIZATION

    Lamont signs SB 1201 (RERACA)

    Gov. Ned Lamont signs the Responsible and Equitable Regulation of Adult-Use Cannabis Act, making Connecticut the 19th legal state. The signing date was chosen near the 50th anniversary of the federal War on Drugs declaration.

  6. 2016REFORM

    Medical access expanded to minors

    HB 5450 extends the medical program to allow qualifying patients under 18 to access medical cannabis, broadening the 2012 program.
